J&K: Kashmiri government employee killed by terrorists in Budgam

Budgam, May 12: Terrorists opened fire on a revenue department official in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam area on Thursday afternoon. One government employee was seriously injured and was transported to a Srinagar hospital, where he died shortly after.

The event occurred in the Tehsildar’s office in Chadoora, Kashmir’s central region. Rahul Bhat of the Kashmiri Pandit group has been identified as the victim. Eralier, the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “Terrorists fired upon one employee namely Shri Rahul Bhat from minority community in Tehsildar office Chadoora, Budgam. He has been shifted to hospital.”

“The injured was immediately brought to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Preliminary investigation reveals that 2 terrorists are involved in this heinous crime & have used pistol for committing this crime,” said J&K Police.

Search operation is going on.  Further details are awaited.
