MANOJ SINHA

Ramgarh, May 18: Hazaribagh MP cum Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance Jayant Sinha on Wednesday addressed the press conference at BJP Office Atal Seva Kendra in Hazaribagh.

He said that today the people are fed up with the decisions of the state government, but ‘Hemant Babu’ is cool.  Be it holding tax or other matters, there is a lot of anger and frustration among the public, which will demolish the state government. There was a discussion going on for a long time regarding the holding tax, but it was implemented without consultation with the mayors and other public representatives. This is a very wrong decision.

The MP said that today people are groaning due to the dreadful problem of electricity. India is getting hot and facing climate change.  “In Hazaribagh, we did not have to resort to fan in childhood, whereas today AC.  Still not getting relief.  Jharkhand is facing power cuts in such dire times.  It tells that the state government is only indulging in corruption and dictatorship.  People are suffering and the state government is not able to provide them even electricity.  Instead of meeting basic necessities, the state government is issuing tughlaqi decrees like holding tax,” he said.

Jayant Sinha said that the state government has sidelined the city units and public representatives and now all the decisions are being taken by the officials.  He said that coal theft is at its peak in Jharkhand, which is directly affecting the power generation.  “Today, every system in the state including coal, electricity and water has become dilapidated.  We are constantly meeting the people of the area through mass dialogues and everywhere we are getting disappointment among the people regarding the supply of basic facilities,” he added.
“I would like to request the people to give a befitting reply to the state government in the Panchayat elections and remove this incompetent, corrupt and dictatorial government at the earliest so that Jharkhand gets good governance once again.  BJP is continuously raising the voice of the people in the state through agitations and we will continue to raise our voice from the road to the house.  We are discussing the holding tax and will take all necessary steps in this regard in the state,” the MP further said.

Notably, the public of Jharkhand will now have to pay property tax according to the circle rate of the land, according to the Jharkhand Property Tax Assessment Rules issued by the Jharkhand Government.

Earlier the main road was considered between 20 to 40 feet, which has now been increased to more than 40 feet.  Along with this, the tax will be recovered by dividing the buildings into the wholly residential, wholly industrial, partly residential or commercial categories.

Tax will be levied on mobile towers on buildings, whether it is a roof or open land, considering it purely for commercial purposes.  Along with this, if advertisement or hoarding has been used on any house, the tax will be recovered by adding this hoarding to the area of the house.
