Daltonganj, May 24: First-year MBBS students of the Laxmi Chandravanshi Medical College Hospital (private), affiliated with the Ramchander Chandravanshi University, Bishrampur in Palamu created a sort of history when they donated blood, according to the Palamu civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar, who graced the blood donation ceremony on Tuesday.

Kanishka Singh, a young girl from Bihar and first-year medico, told lagatar24.com today, “This is my maiden blood donation in my life. I feel happy and contented.” She was very excited following her first blood donation and said “I have given two units of blood.”

But she soon corrected herself saying ‘just one unit’. The CS who was standing close to Kanishka affectionately updated her about the blood donation. After which, she said, “I had got confused seeing the pouch where blood is taken in.”

Palamu CS on the occasion said, “We are lucky to get B negative group of blood today. Our blood bank in Daltonganj remains in a hard crunch of B negative group of blood. At least for the day today, we have this one unit of B negative.”

Sneh Shashi, Zaria Dutta, Rishika Sharma, Afaque Hussain, Vivek Rai, Rahul Raj etc were the first year MBBS students who donated blood today. More than a dozen units of blood collected here would be brought down to the blood bank in Daltonganj safely and by maintaining all protocols for transit of the blood pouches.
