Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its sixth list of candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections on Thursday, naming 19 more contenders. Senior party leader Prem Garg will contest from Panchkula, while Manish Arora has been fielded from Ellenabad, where he will face a tough challenge from Indian National Lok Dal’s (INLD) veteran leader Abhay Singh Chautala.

In addition to Panchkula and Ellenabad, AAP has announced candidates for several other key constituencies, including Kalka, Ambala City, Mulana, Shahabad, Pehowa, Guhla, Panipat, Jind, Fatehabad, Nalwa, Loharu, Badhra, Dadri, Bawani Khera, Kosli, Faridabad NIT, and Badhkal. With this latest release, the party has so far declared 89 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections.

Notable candidates from AAP’s sixth list include O P Gujjar from Kalka, Wazir Singh Dhanda from Jind, Kamal Bisla from Fatehabad, Geeta Sheoran from Loharu, O P Verma from Badkhal, and Himmat Yadav from Kosli.

Earlier, AAP had announced 70 candidates for the assembly elections, including former wrestler Kavita Dalal for the Julana constituency, where she will compete against Congress’ Vinesh Phogat and BJP’s Yogesh Bairagi. The party has been steadily revealing its candidates since Monday, after seat-sharing talks with Congress failed to materialize.

With the nomination deadline set for September 12 and elections scheduled for October 5, AAP aims to make a significant mark in the Haryana political landscape. In the 2019 Haryana assembly elections, AAP contested 46 seats but did not secure a victory.
