Bhopal: A major accident occurred in Ganjbasoda of Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday evening. It is reported that after the fall of a boy in the well in Lal Pathar village, the well collapsed due to the crowd of people who came to take him out, due to which more than 40 people fell inside. After this the team of NDRF, SDRF and local administration started the rescue operation. So far, about 19 people have been pulled out. Bodies of four people have been recovered.
Let us inform that immediately after the accident, the CM of the state Shivraj Singh Chouhan sent teams of NDRF, SDRF to Bhopal for rescue work. Simultaneously, the Chief Minister ordered the top officials to expedite the relief and rescue work.
Compensation has been announced after the accident. Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 50,000 to the injured and free treatment has been announced.
14 year old boy fell in a well
According to the information, a 14-year-old boy had fallen into the well at six o’clock in the Lal Pathar village of Ganjbasoda. There was water from 10 to 15 feet in a 30 feet deep well. After the fall of the child, a crowd of people reached near the well to save him. The well was covered with a cemented slab.
But suddenly the slab broke due to the weight of the crowd and the well collapsed. Due to this, more than 40 people fell in the well. As soon as the information about the incident was received, all the officials of the administration reached the spot and started relief and rescue work through other machines including JCB. At 11 o’clock in the night, a tractor engaged in relief work also fell from the ground.
CM made the wedding venue a control room
State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present on the occasion of the wedding of his adopted daughters in Vidisha, so he made the wedding venue a control room. From there, while monitoring the whole matter, he sent all the officers including IG, Commissioner, Collector, SP there. Giving more details about the incident, the Chief Minister tweeted, “Some people have been reported to have fallen into the well under Ganjbasoda police station of Vidisha district.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a high-level inquiry into the accident. The Chief Minister tweeted and said, ‘The administration is engaged in relief and rescue operations with full force. I have made this place a control room. I am constantly in touch with the relief and rescue work. By trying our best, we will conduct the rescue operation and try our best to save the people. This incident is unfortunate. I told Vishwas Sarang ji to reach the spot immediately and keep a direct eye on the relief and rescue work. I have given instructions for a high-level inquiry into the Ganjbasoda incident and to provide all possible medical assistance to the victims.
