New Delhi, Dec 18: Actor Kamal Haasan will join former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as part of his Bharat Jodo Yatra on December 24.

According to his party, Makkal Needi Maiam, the actor-turned-politician will go to Delhi with Gandhi the next week. Rahul Gandhi requested the superstar to take part in the yatra.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra will arrive in Delhi on December 24. Following an eight-day respite, it will proceed via BJP-controlled Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab before arriving in Jammu and Kashmir the following month.

The yatra, which began in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and travelled through eight states—Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan—completed its 100-day journey on Friday.

On Wednesday, former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan joined Mr. Gandhi in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Actress Swara Bhasker has before participated in a foot march in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Congress leader and Olympic boxing medalist Vijender Singh participated in the yatra in Madhya Pradesh as well.
