Jamshedpur, Nov 21: In a sensational incident, a 51-year-old man hacked his wife and his 10-year-old son before dying by suicide by slitting his throat at his residence in the M-type area of Adityapur in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Sunday night.
The bodies of all three were found lying on the first floor of a two-storeyed building in the closely-nit M-type area late last night, triggering a sensation in the posh locality.
The bodies were identified as that of Enamwell Telera (51), Anima Ere (45) and Amon Telera (10). Anima worked as a head nurse at Ranchi’s Namkum-based health hub ESIC while Amon was a class III student at the Loyola School in Bistupur.
According to police, the assailant Enamwell who was jobless would often indulge in serious altercations with his wife whenever she would come home and the bloody incident was the outcome of the family quarrel.
“We came to know about the murders inside a house in an M-type area after getting a tip-off from the neighbours. From the circumstances, we gathered that after a continuous quarrel started on Sunday afternoon, the situation might have taken an ugly turn when Enamwell first killed his wife and son with a dagger and then committed suicide by slitting his throat with the same murder weapon,” said Rajan Kumar, OC, Adityapur thana while talking to lagatar.24.com.
Kumar said suspecting foul play based on the information they had received in the night, they broke open the door which was bolted from the inside and found the three bodies lying on the floor. He pointed out the police found the murder weapon near the body of Enamwell who is suspected to have committed suicide after killing the two others.
The OC said the bodies have been shifted to Seraikela Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem after which things would get further clarification.
The family was staying at the posh M-type locality on rent and the house owner resides somewhere else in Adityapur.
Significantly, though the immediate neighbours had heard sounds of quarrel coming out of the house since afternoon, but no one did hear any scream. The neighbours had suspected something seriously wrong at the Teleras’ house as the quarrelling sounds had suddenly stopped late in the evening and the house remained unlit till the late hours of the night.
