Ranchi, Nov 11: After setting up multiple world records in cricket, former team India captain and Ranchi’s son MS Dhoni is now showcasing his skills in tennis during the ongoing Jharkhand tennis tournament being held at the tennis ground at JSCA international stadium in Ranchi.
On Wednesday, the pair of Dhoni and Sumit Bajaj made their way into the finals of the ongoing tennis tourney. The pair defeated the team comprising Rajesh Verma and Shashi 2–0 in the semi-finals.
Dhoni and Bajaj played the final with the team of Kanhaiya and Rohit on Thursday evening and won the first set 6-2. However, due to bad lighting, the match could not be completed. The remaining two sets of the final will be played on Monday along with the prize distribution ceremony.
Rajesh Verma and Shashi, who tasted defeat in the semi-finals, said that they felt very proud even after losing to Dhoni. They said that during the game, Dhoni did not let anyone feel that he was such a big figure.
Dhoni’s partner Sumit Bajaj said in a conversation with the media that Dhoni’s game is very calculative and he plays tennis with a very calm mind.
Kanhaiya said that while playing with Dhoni, it does not appear that he is not a professional tennis player. Both the players praised Dhoni’s fitness.
