Ranchi, Nov 2: After ED issued summon to chief minister Hemant Soren to question him in a case of laundering of money allegedly earned by illegal mining, JMM came for his rescue taking it as an attack on the executive president of the party, which has got mandate in 2019 election to run government in Jharkhand.
The party today organised a press conference at its central office in Bariatu and said the exercise done by ED is a part of a pre-planned conspiracy hatched to ‘destabilise’ the democratically elected government and ‘encroach’ the mandate.
Senior JMM leader Supriyo Bhattacharya addressed the press conference and made it clear before the media that the party will fight tooth and nail to save the government and will not tolerate conspiracy against Soren. He said that the party will prove how the BJP has ‘dialled’ a ‘wrong number’.
Bhattacharya said that the party will return in the same form in which he struggled for four decades for a separate state and will raise its voice from road to assembly. The party senior leader said ED is being run by Babulal Marandi and a parliamentarian.
Bhattacharya on the occasion also expressed his concern over the attitude of Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bias and alleged them of sitting tight on the recommendation sent by Election Commission of India on the issue of office of profit for the last three months and giving a vague statement before the media on the issue.
Bhattacharya expressed over the statement of governor saying ‘ek aadh atom bomb footega (an atom bomb will explode)’ and ‘second opinion le rahe hain (taking second opinion)’ while reply to queries of media person intentional to know the content of letter from ECI to Raj Bhawan.
Asked whether ED has no right to issue summon when evidences have been found against CM, Bhattacharya said the ‘ED swatantra hai par iska auchitya bhi to samne aana chahiye (ED is free to take action but its purpose should also come to fore).’
