New Delhi, March 24: Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) has raised the price of home Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in Delhi and the NRC by Rs 1 per standard cubic metre (SCM) to Rs 36.61 per unit, just days after Indian oil firms upped the price of domestic cooking gas (LPG).
The most recent increase in the new PNG price will take effect on Thursday (March 24, 2022).
IGL announced a Rs 1 rise in PNG pricing in the national capital and surrounding cities on Wednesday night to reflect the increase in “input” costs. The recent increase in PNG prices comes just a day after fuel retailers raised LPG prices by Rs 50 per cylinder and began raising petrol and diesel prices in response to a worldwide gas and oil price spike.
According to consumer messages, PNG will cost Rs 36.61 per unit (SCM, or standard cubic metre) in Delhi and Rs 35.86 per unit in Ghaziabad after the increase.
IGL also hiked the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi by Rs 1 per Kg to Rs 59.01 per Kg. The new price will come into effect from today, March 24.
Petrol and diesel prices were on Tuesday hiked by 80 paise a litre each while domestic cooking gas LPG rates were increased by Rs 50 per cylinder as state oil firms ended an over four-and-a-half month election-related hiatus in rate revision.
