New Delhi, April 27: A day after campaigning for free speech on Twitter, which Elon Musk has now purchased for $44 billion, Musk clarified what he meant by ‘free speech’ on Wednesday, after his earlier announcement left Twitter users in the dark about what Musk meant by free speech on Twitter. Elon Musk clarified in a tweet that by free speech, he meant that which complies with the law.
“I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law, he tweeted.
“If people want less free speech, they will ask the governments to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people,” he added.
By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law.
I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law.
If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect.
Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.
