Patna, June 27: Less than 30 minutes into Monday’s proceedings, the Bihar Assembly was delayed until 2 p.m. when the House descended into chaos over an adjournment motion against ‘Agnipath’ brought out by the opposition, which also referred to the Prime Minister’s plan as a dictatorial step.

The adjournment request from Lalit Yadav (RJD) and Ajeet Sharma (Congress) was loudly demanded to be adopted immediately by opposition MLAs as the proceedings got underway at 11 am.
After originally pleading for the topic to be brought up after Question Hour, Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha agreed to let Yadav and Sharma read the motion’s text in order to pacify the opposition.
Opposition MLAs, many of whom marched into the well screaming protests, insisted that the day’s legislative work be postponed in order to allow for a discussion on the new programme for military forces recruiting.
