New Delhi, Dec 28: Air India Express on Tuesday issued rules on coronavirus-appropriate behaviour in flights for passengers arriving from the UAE as India ramps up its Covid response in case there is a spike in coronavirus cases.

The recommendations suggest that it is preferable for all visitors from the UAE to be fully immunised in accordance with the primary Covid immunisation schedule that has been approved. Other safety measures include wearing masks and keeping a physical distance.

“All guests should preferably use masks and follow physical distancing on flights/travel and at all points of entry,” Air India Express said in a tweet.

Additionally, the recommendations indicated that children under the age of 12 are exempt from post-arrival random testing. If a kid exhibits Covid-related symptoms upon arrival or while self-monitoring, they are simply required to submit to testing in accordance with procedure.

Recently, the Union government reinstated policies concerning Covid testing at airports for visitors from abroad. In light of a sharp increase in cases in China, samples of people travelling from other countries are being randomly tested for the coronavirus.

Additionally, due to the continued global increase in Covid cases, RT-PCR tests are now required for all foreign travellers arriving from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Thailand. Any traveller from these nations who exhibits symptoms or tests positive for Covid will be placed under quarantine.
