Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari, is appointed as the new Chief of Air Staff. He will take charge on September 30 after the Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria retires. Vivek Ram Chaudhari is presently the Vice Chief of Air Staff and has been an ace MiG-29 pilot expert in major MiG-29 fighter aircraft.
Along with him, Western Air Command chief Air Marshal B .R Krishna will take over as the new chief of integrated defence staff, succeeding Vice Admiral Atul Jain.”
Defence Ministry spokesman, A Bharat Bhushan Babu tweeted, “Government has decided to appoint Air Marshal V R Chaudhari, PVSM, AVSM, VM presently Vice Chief of Air Staffs as the next Chief of Air Staff”
Notably, with an experience of more than 4,250 hours of flying on 26 types of fighters and aircrafts, Bhadauria has been a chief test pilot for Aircraft Tejas. He also headed the contract negotiating committee for the Rafale deal and was among the first pilots to fly Rafale.
