Daltonganj, Dec. 30: Alarm bells have begun to ring in Palamu as Coronavirus cases have started to increase again. Three people have tested positive in two days and the number is set to increase.

District epidemiologist Dr Anup Kumar Singh said that 35 samples have been collected while contact tracing after a couple was found positive. There is ample chance that a few of these 35 may be Covid positive.

A person who gave his sample for the Covid test in Palamu and then left for Odisha has also been found positive. He was tested along with his 20 years old pregnant wife in Hussainabad.

The woman has been admitted to the Covid care centre in Japla, said the epidemiologist. She is totally unvaccinated while her husband is only one dose vaccinated.

One youth aged 18 of Sadar block has also tested positive and he is unvaccinated as well.

All 3 who have tested positive are asymptomatic.

Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar has urged people to follow the Covid protocols. He said that since positive patients are trickling in the Covid care centre, it is a very serious and sad situation for everyone.

“Use social vaccine by wearing a mask, avoid crowds and remain at home if not necessitated for going out,” he advised.

Palamu DC Shashi Ranjan said, “We are very soon going to take adequate measures to combat the threat as many of the districts of our state have begun to report Covid positive cases like us although our figure is in single digit. We all are concerned about the rise of cases of Coronavirus in Koderma and want Palamu to be kept saved.”
