New Delhi: Actress Alia Bhatt has strongly criticised the circulation of online videos showing her and Ranbir Kapoor’s under-construction Rs 250 crore bungalow, calling it a breach of privacy and a “serious security issue.” The six-storey property, part of the Kapoor family’s legacy, has been in the making for years.
Alia Bhatt’s Reaction to Privacy Breach
Taking to Instagram, Alia Bhatt wrote that while space in Mumbai is limited, no one has the right to film private residences and share them publicly. She explained that a video of their home, recorded without consent, was being circulated by multiple outlets. Calling it a violation rather than “content,” Alia urged fans and media houses not to forward or share such material. She further asked people to reflect on whether they would accept their own homes being filmed without permission.
Legacy of the Kapoor Home
The luxury residence once belonged to Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor before passing down to Rishi and Neetu Kapoor. Alia and Ranbir, along with their daughter Raha, have been regularly visiting the site to monitor progress. Neetu Kapoor was also frequently seen there. Reports suggest that the family may soon move into the mansion, possibly on an auspicious date, to continue the Kapoor family tradition.
A Firm Stand on Celebrity Privacy
Alia’s post highlights the growing concerns of celebrities over intrusion into their personal spaces. She categorically called filming of private property without permission a violation and said it should “never be normalised.” Her statement is being seen as a call to respect personal boundaries, even for public figures.
