Annamaya, Sep 15: In a collision involving a jeep and a lorry on Friday morning in Andhra Pradesh’s Annamaya district, authorities said that up to five people were killed and eleven others were injured.
Police claimed that seven of the injured people were in serious condition and that there were two males and three females among the dead.
“A total of five people perished in the accident. Of the injured persons, seven are said to be in serious condition. They are admitted at the Tirupati Rua Hospital,” Nagababu, circle inspector, Methampally, said.
The number of deceased is probably to rise given that seven of them are in critical condition.
“The toll is likely to go up,” an official said.
Police stated that they were still investigating the incident’s precise cause.
When the two vehicles collided, the lorry was travelling from Kadapa to Chittor and the jeep was transporting 16 pilgrims who were returning from a trip to Tirumala to Belagavi, Karnataka.
