New Delhi, Sept 27: The second round of nationwide raids against the Islamic group Popular Front of India (PFI) is underway, days after multi-agency raids on its top leaders and officials resulted in over a hundred arrests.

In Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh, investigative agencies are working.

PFI has been charged with supporting terrorism, giving Muslim youth instruction in the use of weapons, and radicalising them into joining terrorist organisations.

According to reports, the National Investigation Agency’s intelligence inputs served as the foundation for the action.

With the assistance of neighbourhood police, the special cell of the Delhi Police is conducting raids in a number of locations, including Rohini, Nizamuddin, Jamia, Shaheen Bagh, and central Delhi. The number of persons held in the nation’s capital has reached 30, which is the most of any state today.

Around, 25 PFI leaders/members arrested so far today in districts including Kamrup Rural (5), Goalpara (10), Karimganj (1), Udalguri (1), Darrang (1), Dhubri (3), Barpeta (2), Baksa (2), according to the Assam Police CPRO.
