Mumbai, Aug 1: Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena MP was detained at midnight after spending hours being questioned about the redevelopment of a Mumbai chawl. Sanjay Raut will currently be presented at the PMLA court on Monday afternoon following lunch.
According to the source, Sanjay Raut’s home also had Rs 11.50 lakh seized by the ED. Senior ED officers also arrived in Mumbai at the same time from Delhi after midnight.
Over Raut’s detention, Sena has planned to organize protests throughout Mumbai.
Notably, officials from the Enforcement Directorate searched Raut’s residence for most of Sunday after he resisted being called in for interrogation despite receiving two summonses.
On Sunday at 7 a.m., the investigation agency team arrived at the residence of the 60-year-old Sena MP. However, Raut wasn’t shifted to the Enforcement Directorate office until later in the day. In relation to the redevelopment of a chawl in Mumbai and associated transactions involving his wife and close friends, the investigators want to examine Raut’s wife.
