Assault Rifles recovered from Prem Prakash’s house kept at Argora police station

Ranchi, Aug 25: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has kept two assault rifles at Argora police station which was recovered from the rented house of power broker Prem Prakash at Harmu on Wednesday.

After verification of its owner and proper legal documentation, they will be sent to the police line to ensure that there should be no hurdle during probe into the matter of arms recovery from the house of the tainted person and suspension of two bodyguards in this connection.

A police official deputed to take back the firearms from the custody of the ED and deposit it in the magazine of police line informed this saying that the firearms reached the police station late last night itself in accordance with law that provides a probe agency to keep the recovered arms safely.

The police official said that the ED has also summoned sergeant major AN Pathak and two bodyguards, whose names are yet to be disclosed by the Jharkhand Police, for proper probe into the matter. The intention of the ED is to ensure under which circumstances the firearms reached the house of an accused of money laundering.

A police official said once it will be informed to the ED that the firearms belong to the Jharkhand Police there is all possibility that the ED will release the firearms after documentation. At the same time, it is expected to take all precaution to ensure that in case any other independent agency take the matter of arm recovery in its hand it should not face any hurdle in using the recovered arms as exhibits.
