Ranchi, Nov 3: MLA Bandhu Tirkey provided Rs 20000 to an injured assistant policeman and offered his one month salary to the family member of a martyred assistant policeman during the ending of the protest by the assistant policemen at Morhabadi ground.
The 38 days protest came to an end today after Bandhu Tirkey intervened in the matter on behalf of the Jharkhand government and got the assistant policemen’s signature on the agreement letter. The agreement stated a formation of a high-level committee to look into the eight demands made by the policemen within the time frame of 60 days.
While talking to the policemen Tirkey said that all the assistant policemen are a part of the government and all their demands are taken into consideration.
“It will be decided within 60 days and according to the demands put up by the assistant policemen the committee brings the things on track,” Tirkey said.
All the assistant policemen will be joining the duty after returning back to their duty station.
While addressing the gathering of the assistant policemen and an assistant policeman Vivekanand Prasad Gupta said that they all will work again and provide the best services to the state.
“If our demands are not fulfilled within 60 days we will again gather here and the protest will again begin,” Gupta said.
The eight demands include a permanent job, fixing the remuneration at Rs 24000, Uniform Service Reservation, medical benefits, insurance of Rs 20 lakh on death, travelling allowance, leave as per police manual and return of dismissed police personnel.
