New Delhi, Oct 17: After a SpiceJet plane made an emergency landing at Hyderabad airport on October 12 after smoke was seen in the cabin during descent, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered the low-cost airline to inspect all operational Q-400 aircraft engines within one week.
An issue involving smoke in the cabin during descent forced SpiceJet flight VT-SQB to make an emergency landing in Hyderabad. With the help of the cabin crew and Hyderabad airport staff, all passengers were safely evacuated.
In a statement, the DGCA stated that it would take all necessary steps to prevent any undesirable incidents.

Additionally, SpiceJet has been instructed by the aviation authorities to conduct a weekly inspection of the bleed-off valve screen and casing for signs of oil dampness.
