Daltonganj, April 3: A peace committee meeting was held today in the premise of the town police station Daltonganj. Barbs were flung from both the communities in the meeting.

SDO sadar Rajesh kr Sah and assistant superintendent of police K Vijay Shankar along with OC town police station A K Mahatha and others remained in attendance in the peace committee meeting.

A member of the Hindu community reminded that obstacles come at Nawa Toli when Ramnavmi procession reaches there. The Ramnavmi processionists too had to undergo rigours there.

On the other hand a member of the Muslim community said once the Ramnavmi procession starts passing through the Muslim mohalla the voice, the tone and the volume of the slogan Jai Shri Ram go sky touching.

Hearing this rose another member of the Hindu community who said once our procession negotiates Muslim areas we feel more relaxed and secured.

This man went on to say that we do not know how Muslims feel when their procession passes through our heartland.

The General of the Ramnavmi committee Jugal Kishore rose from his seat and asked one speaker to stop speaking as there was the sound of the Azan there. The speaker held the microphone in his hand but said not a word more till the Azan was on from the nearby mosque.

Sources said the guideline for the festival issued by the state government has irked many here. There rose a demand for some relaxation in the implementation of the curbs and restrictions.
