“Laid the foundation stone for @BCCI’s new NCA. It is our collective vision to have a Centre of Excellence which nurtures talent and supports the cricket ecosystem in India,” Shah twitted.

BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal, joint secretary Jayesh George and NCA head VVS Laxman were also present.

Since its inception in 2000, the NCA has operated out of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is located in the middle of the city.

The BCCI has rented Ground B from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), which owns the stadium, for outdoor practice, as well as an indoor practice facility and a separate room for a contemporary gymnasium.

The new facility, which is anticipated to be completed within a year, will feature three grounds for domestic matches.
