New Delhi, Sept 15: In connection with the West Bengal SSC scam case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at certain software companies in Delhi and Kolkata on Thursday.
Sources claim that these software companies manipulated the exam results for Ankita Adhikari, daughter of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and former Minister of State for School Education Paresh Adhikari. Ankita Adhikari took the exam.
Ankita Adhikari was subsequently chosen to teach elementary school. However, the Calcutta High Court revoked her appointment and demanded that Paresh Adhikari refund the basic income she had received up until her appointment as a teacher.
The CBI lodged a FIR against Paresh Adhikari and his daughter in May of this year. In addition to the Prevention of Corruption Act, Adhikari and his daughter were charged with sections 420 (cheating and dishonesty) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
