Bihar: 22 die due to drowning in last 24 hours, CM announces ex-gratia

Patna, Oct 8: The Bihar government reported on Sunday that 22 persons from nine different districts in the state had drowned to death in the last 24 hours.

According to an official notice from the Bihar government, out of 22, five cases were recorded from Bhojpur, four from Jahanabad, three from Patna, three from Rohtas, two from Darbhanga, two from Nawada, and one each from the districts of Madhepura, Kaimur, and Aurangabad.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar offered his condolences for the individuals who lost their lives and declared an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the families of the deceased.
