Patna, Nov 2: Aman Bhushan Hajari of JD(U) has defeated RJD’s Ganesh Bharti and Congress’s Atirek Kumar in Kusheshwar Asthan reserved seat. Hajari won with a margin of 12,695 votes over Bharti and got a total of 59,882 votes. Ganesh Bharti of RJD got 47,184 votes. At the same time, even before the results were out, former CM and HAM supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi had congratulated JDU in advance for the victory.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has blamed the party’s state unit chief Jagada Nand Singh and MLC Sunil Singh for the defeat in Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly by-polls.
The by-polls in Bihar had become an interesting contest with former CM Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad returning back to election campaigns after nearly six years. Notably, RJD had emerged as the single largest party in the 243-member Bihar Assembly after last year’s elections and this time was aiming to defeat Nitish Kumar’s ruling JDU in both the by-polls.
