Patna, Sept 29: Producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor have got embroiled in a legal battle now. According to PTI, a local Begusarai court in Bihar issued arrest warrants for the mother-daughter team on allegations that their online series XXX Season 2 offended soldiers and their family members.

On the basis of a complaint made by Begusarai resident and ex-serviceman Shambhu Kumar, the court of judge Vikas Kumar issued the warrant on Wednesday.

He said that XXX Season 2 contained multiple offensive scenes involving a soldier’s wife in his 2020 lawsuit.

“The series was aired on ALTBalaji, an OTT platform owned by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. Shobha Kapoor is also associated with Balaji Telefilms,” said Hrishikesh Pathak, advocate of Shambhu Kumar.

“The court had issued summons to them (Kapoors) and asked them to appear before it in connection with the matter. They (Kapoors), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them,” he added.

Notably, Twitter users called out the web series in 2020 by making AltBalaji Insults Army a trending topic.

The sensual comedy-drama XXX was directed by Ken Ghosh in 2018. Kyra Dutt, Aparnaa Bajpai, Rithvik Dhanjani, Shantanu Maheshwari, Ankit Gera, Pryanca Talukdar, and Aparna Sharma are some of the actors who appear in it.
