Patna: The Bihar government’s General Administration Department has taken disciplinary steps against 15 state officers for negligence in updating their data on the Service History Portal, a digital system for maintaining administrative service records.
Show cause notices with a deadline
All 15 officers have been issued show cause notices and directed to respond by May 19. The department has warned that failure to provide a satisfactory explanation or absence from the update program will result in disciplinary action.
Repeated negligence despite instructions
According to a letter issued by the Under Secretary of the General Administration Department, the officers failed to update their professional records on the portal despite repeated instructions. The letter highlights that such behavior constitutes indiscipline and defiance of senior officers’ orders.
Mandatory attendance in update program
All listed officers have also been instructed to mandatorily attend the data update program scheduled on May 19 to complete the update process.
The Service History Portal was developed to digitally manage records of Bihar Administrative Service (BPSC) officers, ensuring transparency and accessibility of service data.
