Patna, March 20: A mob sets Balther Police Station on fire in Bettiah of West Champaran after a man died in police custody.The matter is of Saturday (March 19, 2022.
This whole ruckus arose after the death of the person who was kept in custody in the police station there. According to the sources, a person had died in police custody at Balthar police station, following which an agitated mob set the police station on fire.
After the incident, there was an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding area. Bettiah SP Upendra Nath Verma told reporters that the mob targeted and ransacked three police vehicles. A policeman also lost his life in the whole incident.
“ 3 police vehicles were torched by mob; one police personnel lost his life in the incident. The incident took place after a man who was taken into police custody died due to a bee sting at the police station,” said Upendra Nath Verma, SP Bettiah.
