Bihar: Parks to remain closed from Dec 31 to Jan 2 amid Omicron scare

Patna, Dec.29: Bihar government has ordered the parks, including the Jaivik Udyaan, to close from December 31 to January 2 due to an increase in Omicron cases across the country.

“It has been also decided that the New Year celebration will not take place in any park in Bihar. The decision has been taken to avoid the crowd on New year,” the order read.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, it will also be required to follow the government’s SOPs in order to avoid any form of political, social, religious, cultural, or sports-related events, according to the directive.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced on Tuesday that 6,358 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 75,456.

In Bihar, 7 Covid patients recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total number of healthy patients in the state to 7,14,277 and the recovery rate is 98.32 percent. The total active corona patients in the state are 155.
