Sasaram, April 3: Another explosion was reported in the Mochi Tola area of the town early morning on Monday, two days after a bomb blast in Sasaram injured six people. This incident is the most recent in a string of violence and arson that disrupted Ram Navami festivities on March 30 across the nation.
“We heard an explosion-like sound in the morning but cannot confirm if it was a bomb blast or some fire-crackers,” said Sub-Inspector Ram Naresh Singh.
Locals nearby reported hearing “jai shree ram” shouts as well.
After the district’s Ram Navami parade, there have been a number of reported skirmishes. Authorities and the state administration are making every effort to maintain control of the situation.
During the Ram Navami parade on Friday, March 31, a fight broke out between two groups in Sasaram. There have also been reports of stone pelting nearby. The authorities in Sasaram city issued prohibitory orders in accordance with Section 144 of the CrPC in order to preserve the status quo of law and order.
