BIT Sindri holds seven-day special code camp for new CSE batch

Dhanbad, Dec 7: The Hackathon and Coding Club of BIT Sindri has organized a seven-day special code camp for the 1st year students (2022-26 ) to provide first-hand knowledge of computer programming languages.

One of the members of Hackathon and Coding Club, Kunal Mahatha said that the camp started on Tuesday where four computer programming languages namely C++, Java, Python, and Design were taught to students on the first day held between 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

“The special camp is being conducted under the guidance of BIT director DK Singh, professor in-charge Dinesh Prabhakar, and head of the Computer Science Engineering (CSE ), Dr SC Dutta,” said Kunal Mahatha.

The members of Hackathon and Coding Club mentioned that around 450 to 550 students attended the classes held at the IT Building of the institution where different classes were held for different programming languages.

Electronic Engineering student, Divyansh Sahu (2020 batch), Electronic Computer Engineering (ECE) student, Kumar Rishab (2020 batch) including other students informed the fresher about the C++ programming language.

The team of Nipun Kumar and Prafulla Shekhar of the Information Technology (IT) (2020 batch) also made the students aware of the Java programming languages. Kunal Mahatha of Computer Science Engineering, Harsh Kumar Jha of Chemical Engineering, and Kirti Raj of Information Technology (2020 batch) taught about Python programming language whereas Ritesh Kumar of Electronic computer engineering (2020 batch) instructed the students in the Design programming language.

Notably, each section of language and design had a quiz at last for evaluating the students what have learned. There was maximum participation in the classes for C++ in which over 250-300 students participated. Besides it, around 80 in Java, over 50 in Python, and 100 in Design attended classes.
