Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has openly criticized the BJP for sidestepping key Jharkhand issues in favor of divisive politics centered around Hindu-Muslim and Pakistan-Bangladesh narratives. Posting on his official X handle, CM Soren accused the BJP of rehashing communal topics instead of addressing the pressing needs of Jharkhand’s citizens. “The BJP has now resorted to its overused narrative of Hindu-Muslim-Pakistan-Bangladesh politics, neglecting the real issues of the Jharkhandis,” he said, adding that his government remains dedicated to addressing the state’s real concerns despite opposition disruptions.

A State Built on Jal, Jungle, Zameen: CM Soren’s Commitment to Jharkhand’s Resources
The Chief Minister emphasized Jharkhand’s origins in the struggle to secure control over its own resources—land, water, and forests—and accused the BJP of exploiting these resources for corporate interests. “The BJP’s relentless focus on looting Jharkhand’s resources, prioritizing corporate benefits over local rights, goes against everything the state stands for,” Soren remarked, reaffirming his commitment to protect Jharkhand’s natural heritage.
“All Jharkhandis Stand United Against BJP’s Divide-and-Rule Tactics”
Soren highlighted the people’s unity across the state, from Palamu to Manoharpur, and said that the BJP’s divisive strategies won’t shake Jharkhand’s resolve. He assured voters that his government will accelerate development projects in the next five years while protecting Jharkhand’s land and cultural legacy. “We are all one in our mission for a brighter future,” he stated.
Key Accusations Against BJP: A List by CM Soren
- Undermining Land Rights: BJP allegedly attempted to dilute the protections offered by the CNT-SPT Act, essential for safeguarding indigenous rights over their land.
- Amending Laws for Corporate Gain: Soren accused the BJP of manipulating land acquisition laws to make it easier for corporates to acquire communal lands, undermining local ownership.
- Granting Mining Privileges: According to Soren, policies under the BJP have given corporate companies control over the state’s resources, marginalizing local communities.
- Weakening Traditional Land Systems: He claimed the BJP’s policies aimed to disrupt Jharkhand’s traditional land management practices, stripping locals of their heritage.
CM Soren’s Government’s Accomplishments and Future Promises:
- Protection of CNT-SPT Acts: Soren’s administration blocked any amendments that would negatively impact indigenous land rights.
- Halting Controversial Projects: The government prevented the expansion of the Netarhat Field Firing Range and stopped the DVC Power Project on sacred tribal lands.
- Withdrawing Cases Against Activists: The government revoked false cases filed against individuals involved in the CNT-SPT and Pathalgadi movements.
- Establishing Land Ownership Rights: Soren pledged to strengthen land laws, ensuring that village land remains with villagers and repealing amendments to land acquisition laws that were perceived as exploitative.
- Community Rights on Forest Land: He vowed to enforce community forest rights, giving tribals rightful ownership over forest lands.
Soren concluded by pledging that his government will continue fighting to safeguard Jharkhand’s resources, launching targeted initiatives to protect tribal land, and ensuring accountability for any previous irregularities in land records. “The next five years under ‘Abua Raj’ will be dedicated to the people of Jharkhand, to strengthen and protect their heritage, their resources, and their rights,” he affirmed.
