Patna: Panic spread across the Patna Civil Court complex after a bomb threat warning of a possible explosion, prompting immediate evacuation of judges, lawyers and staff, and triggering a high-level security response.
Threat Received via Official Email
According to officials, the Patna Civil Court received an email stating that three RDX-based IEDs would be detonated inside the court परिसर on January 8, 2026. Following the threat, the District Bar Association secretary was formally informed and instructed to ensure that all members vacate the premises without delay.
Court परिसर Evacuated, Security Tightened
Soon after the alert, police administration swung into action. The entire court complex was cleared, and judges and advocates were moved to safe locations. Entry and exit points were sealed with barricades, and security across the premises was significantly enhanced.
Dog Squad and Bomb Disposal Teams Deployed
A dog squad and bomb disposal unit were deployed to conduct a thorough, step-by-step search of the premises. Every building, courtroom, record room and public space is being meticulously inspected under established safety protocols. Senior police officials, including the SSP, are present on-site supervising the operation.
Investigation Underway, Public Asked to Stay Calm
Police have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the threatening email and identify those responsible. Authorities have urged the public to avoid rumours and cooperate with security personnel. Officials stated that if any suspicious object is found, strict standard operating procedures will be followed.
