Patna, Sept 1: In a major decision on Thursday,  Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced to conduct the preliminary examination in one day and in one shift.

The decision was taken in the meeting called by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday to discuss candidates’ issues with the Bihar Public Service Commission’s 67th preliminary examination.

Atul Prasad, the president of the BPSC, informed the Chief Minister of the entire scenario during the meeting. In light of this, it has been decided that the Bihar Public Service Commission’s preliminary test will be administered as usual in one day and one shift.

“On the suo motu cognizance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, it was decided to conduct the preliminary examination of BPSC in one day and in one shift as before, in the meeting of Chief Secretary,” Information and Public Relations Department, Bihar tweeted.

Notably on Wednesday, upset candidates caused a commotion over the BPSC exam being given in two sessions throughout the day. The establishment of the percentile system and the dual-shift exam were both opposed by the candidates. Thousands of candidates were protested in front of the BPSC office in Patna.

Candidates for the BPSC and the police got into a fight during this. The candidates had been struck with police batons. On this subject, CM Nitish called a significant meeting.

Earlier, BPSC had issued a notice informing that the 67th Prelims exam will be held on two days on 20 September and 22 September 2022.  According to the BPSC’s notice, the district was not completely considered for holding the exam in one sitting because of the high number of applicants.
