Tokyo, Aug 24: Following their victory over Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark in the second round of the men’s doubles category on Wednesday, the Indian team of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila moved on to the last 16 stages of the ongoing BWF World Championships 2022.

On court 2, the Indian team won by scores of 21-17, 21-16. The match was won by Arjun and Kapila in two games in a row. The Danish opposition put up a valiant fight, but they fell short of being victorious.

The Chinese team of Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan eliminated Ashwini Ponnappa and Reddy N. Sikki earlier in their second-round match in the women’s doubles division of the ongoing BWF World Championships 2022.

The South Korean team of Lee So-hee and Shin Seung Chan defeated Pooja Santosh and Sanjana Dandu in another women’s doubles match on court 3. This time, the Indian team was once again left disappointed.

Similar to the previous game, the Indians suffered a devastating defeat in back-to-back games, dropping the match 15-21, 7-21.

Stars like Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, Kidambi Srikanth, MR Arjun, and Dhruv Kapila, as well as Prannoy HS and Lakshya Sen, will perform later today.
