Dhanbad Nov 21: Demanding return of ticket fare, passengers created commotion at Dhanbad railway station on Sunday morning after Dhanbad- Alappuzha Express train was cancelled midway of journey.
The passengers of Dhanbad had tickets to Chennai (Tamil Nadu) on November 20 but due to water logging on railway track between Rajampeta- Nandarulu railway stations under South Central Railway (SCR), the train returned to Dhanbad in the morning from Rourkela station.
The passengers, who returned midway of journey, were demanding return of their fare as the train did not complete its trip. The passengers began protesting at Dhanbad railway station for refund.
“If train returned from half way our ticket fare should also be returned”, said a passenger who had a reservation.
However senior officers of GRP and RPF reached the station and pacified the agitating passenger saying that senior railway officers would decide on their grievances.
Dhanbad rail division public relation officer PK Mishra said that, due to waterlogging on track between Rajampeta- Nandarulu railway stations under South Central Railway, Dhanbad- Alappuzha Express Train would set out today ( 21-11-21) at 2.30 pm from Dhanbad. The train from Dhanbad is 11.40 am.
“ Besides it, the Down train of Alappuzha- Dhanbad express , which starts from Alappuzha, has been cancelled today owing to water logging on track ”,said PK Mishra, Dhanbad divisional railway PRO.
