New Delhi, Dec 19: The Rouse Avenue Court issued a production warrant for Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Anubrata Mondal in a West Bengal cattle smuggling case. In response to a plea offered by the Enforcement Directorate, the court granted the warrant.

By sending Anubrata Mondal on a transit remand from Kolkata to Delhi, the court has granted permission for the Enforcement Directorate to question him. The TMC leader’s attorney has stated that they will appeal the judgement to the High Court, nonetheless.
In a money laundering investigation connected to the cattle smuggling case, the ED recently attached up to 32 properties worth more than Rs 1.58 crore that belonged to a person who is a close confidant of Mondal.
The ED has questioned Mondal and his daughter Sukanya over this matter. In this instance, the agency (ED) has so far filed two charge sheets and attached assets totaling Rs 20.25 crore.
After a protracted interrogation, the ED detained the TMC Birbhum district president, who is rumoured to be Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s close friend, in November of last year in connection with the alleged multi-crore cattle smuggling case.
