As a result of the CBI filing a FIR in 2020, his name surfaced in the cattle smuggling scam case. The Border security force intercepted more than 20,000 cattle heads between 2015 and 2017 as they were being smuggled across the border, according to the CBI.
A number of locations in the district have recently been the target of raids by the CBI in relation to the livestock smuggling case. Saigal Hossain, Mondal’s bodyguard, was also taken into custody by the investigation team.
