Ranchi, May 9: A special CBI court framed charges against a former circle inspector of Ormanjhi, Sanjay Kumar, in a land scam case related to a real estate company, Sanjeevani Buildcon.
The circle officer is allegedly involved in the fraudulent mutation of about 5 acres of land in Ormanjhi in connivance with the real estate company.
After the charge was framed the court deferred the trial in the matter till June 3.
The case arose after one Rakesh Kumar and others purchased 4.5 acres of land from Sanjeevani Buildcon and after the deal they realized that the land whose mutation was shown in the verification was found to be wrong.
An FIR was registered in this case on 22 April 2012. Later, the matter was taken over by the CBI.
The land scam done by Sanjeevani Buildcon is the biggest land scam in Jharkhand till date. The investigating agencies have still not been able to reach Jayant Dayal Nandi, the main accused in this case.
