Kolkata, Oct 8: In relation to alleged irregularities in civic body recruitment, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting a search at the residence of Firhad Hakim, the Mayor of Kolkata and a Trinamool Congress (TMC) Minister in the West Bengal Cabinet.
Earlier on September 26, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted searches at approximately six sites in West Bengal in connection with a suspected corruption investigation related to the hiring of ineligible candidates as assistant teachers in primary schools.
During the course of an additional investigation into a case, the CBI searched the premises of private individuals connected to private enterprises at around 6 locations, including Behala, Salt Lake, Kolkata, and Howrah.
An official with the CBI stated that during searches, incriminating documents and articles had been found.
