Chatra, Non 19: Chatra police have taken major action against Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) militant organization. Acting on the instructions of SP Rakesh Ranjan, the police team led by SDPO Ashok Ravidas on Friday arrested seven militants from Tutki forest.
The arrested militants include Sub-Zonal Commanders Ramraj Rajak, Umesh Kumar, Ganesh Kumar Mahato, Horil Bhuyan Rahul Kumar, Shyam Oraon and Dilip Kumar. Many other items including an M1 rhino rifle, an SLR, an American sten gun, a gun, a country-made pistol, 105 cartridges have been recovered from the arrested militants.
SP Rakesh Ranjan had received secret information that sub-zonal commander Ramraj Rajak of TPC militant organization along with other members of his squad was planning to collect levy in Chatra district. On the basis of the information received, a police team was formed which also included 20 CRPF personnel, under the leadership of Simaria SDPO on the instructions of SP Rakesh Ranjan.
The police team launched a raid in the Tutki forest. Meanwhile, seeing the police team, a suspicious person started running away. After which he was caught by the police team. During interrogation, he revealed his name as TPC Sub-Zonal Commander Ramraj Rajak. Ramraj told the police that from 1997 to 2010, he was in the post of sub-zonal commander in the CPI-Maoist. He joined as TPC Area Commander in the year 2015 and was later made Sub-Zonal Commander after Avinash went to jail.
Notably, a total of 8 cases are registered against Ramraj Rajak in different police stations of the district and two police stations of Bihar.
