Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren took a sharp jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of making fake promises and creating divisions. In a recent Facebook post, Soren criticized BJP’s “Gogo Didi” scheme, calling it a farce and comparing the financial support schemes for women in different states.

Soren pointed out the inconsistency in BJP’s financial promises to women, stating, “How ridiculous it is that those who promise ₹2,100 in Jharkhand are giving only ₹830 per month for five years in Odisha. In Madhya Pradesh, they were giving ₹1,000, but now it’s been raised to ₹1,250 with conditions.”

CM Hemant’s Challenge to the Center

The Chief Minister further demanded that the central government take immediate action, saying, “I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to start returning the pending ₹1.36 lakh crore owed to Jharkhand. The Supreme Court has already given its order. We are prepared to begin sending the first installment of ₹2,500 to every woman in Jharkhand aged 18 to 50, without any conditions.”

He added that this scheme should be extended across India, with every woman in the country receiving an equal amount. “This plan is the need of the hour for the entire nation,” Soren stated.

The statement comes amid growing political tension between the ruling Jharkhand government and the BJP, with Soren frequently criticizing the central government’s policies and handling of financial matters related to the state.
