Ranchi, Dec 1: Four jawans of the 209 Cobra Battalion were injured in an encounter with Maoists in Goilkera, East Singhbhum today morning and were airlifted and brought to Ranchi in the afternoon.
Their chopper landed at the Khelgaon helipad from where they were rushed to Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Super Specialty Hospital by ambulance.
A Green corridor was made from the helipad to the hospital to ensure that their ambulance does not get stuck in a jam anywhere.
The four jawans include Sushil Lakra (25), Suraj Kumar (29), Budhdev Kishan (29) and Krishna Bokare (31).
Lakra, a resident of Tumilia under the Talsara police station area of Sundargarh district in Odisha has sustained a leg injury. Kumar, a resident of Pure Khale in the Raebareli district of UP has a right leg injury.
Kishan, a resident of Kardakahaman in Odisha, has a left hand injury. Bokare, a resident of Rampur in Karnataka, has an upper chest injury.
“They are out of danger. Necessary radiological and pathological examinations are being done to ensure that they fully get recovered. Kishan has been admitted under Dr Anjan Gandhi in the male general ward while the process of admission of others is going on,” the insider said.
