Daltonganj, Aug 5: Despite the conspicuous absence of veteran Congress leaders on Friday, the district Congress president Bittu Pathak and his team staged a protest against the price hike, unbridled GST, unemployment and ED (Enforcement Directorate) action on their top two leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.

The workers shouted full-throated slogans in the street and their body gestures were not short of their body fight against what they termed the dictatorship of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, accusing them of plunging the country into the pit of stagnancy on the economic front.

The Congressmen flayed the Modi government for price rise, growing unemployment, GST on poor use items and for unleashing vindictive politics against their central leadership.

Town police frisked the workers in a bus and brought them down to the town thana where after some time they were let off.

Officer in charge of the town police station Daltonganj Abhay Kumar Sinha said they were just detained and released thereafter.
