New Delhi, Oct 15: The first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh was announced on Sunday by the Congress party.
The party announced 144 candidates for the Madhya Pradesh elections, 30 for the Chhattisgarh elections, and another 55 for the Telangana assembly elections scheduled for next month.
In Madhya Pradesh, the Congress party has nominated former Chief Minister Kamal Nath for the Chhindwara constituency, while Lakshman Singh, the brother of former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, has been selected as the candidate for the Chachoura constituency.
The Congress party has put forward Vikram Mastal as its candidate for the Budhni constituency, which is the same electoral district where the BJP has nominated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The Congress party has nominated Ajay Singh Rahul for the Churhat constituency, Jitu Patwari for Rau, Hemant Katare for Ater, and Vikrant Bhuria for Jhabua.
The Madhya Pradesh assembly elections are scheduled for November 17 in a single phase, and the results will be declared on December 3.
In Chhattisgarh, Deputy Chief Minister TS Singh Deo has been reselected as a candidate from his stronghold in Ambikapur. Additionally, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will be contesting from the Patan constituency.
In Chhattisgarh, the elections will be conducted in two stages, on November 7 and November 17, with the results set to be announced on December 3.
In Telangana, Anumula Revanth Reddy has been named as the candidate for the Kodangal constituency, while Uttam Kumar Reddy is in the running for Huzurnagar.
Among the notable candidates, Dasari Seethakka will be contesting from Mulugu, Mynampally Rohit Rao is running in Medak, and Mynampally Hanumanth Rao is vying for the seat in Malkajgiri.
Telangana is scheduled to hold elections on November 30, and the results will be announced on December 3.
