Raigad, Aug 21: On the Mumbai-Pune Expressway in Maharashtra’s Raigad district on Monday morning, a container flipped, crossed the divider, and struck five vehicles, inflicting two fatalities and four injuries, police stated.
The driver of the container lost control of the wheels, overturned the truck, and collided with five incoming vehicles in the other lane, according to officials. The incident happened in the Khopoli region of the district at 9.00 am.
“The container was en route to Mumbai from Pune lost control due to high speed and overturned after crossing into the other lane,” police said.
Authorities stated that during the incident, the container fell onto five cars. Tragically, two individuals, one of whom was a woman, lost their lives immediately, while four additional people sustained injuries.
“Injured people have been rushed to the hospital, and we are further looking into the incident,” they added.
