New Delhi, Dec 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the 96th episode of his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday.

In his last ‘Mann ki Baat’ broadcast of the year, PM Modi took note of the rising Covid cases in many countries. He asked people to take precautions to remain safe. He said many people are on a vacation or will go on one during Christmas and New Year and urged them to follow protocols like wearing masks and washing hands to ensure that their enjoyment is not affected adversely by the virus.

"आप भी देख रहे हैं, कि, दुनिया के कई देशों में कोरोना बढ़ रहा है, इसलिए हमें, मास्क और हाथ धुलने जैसी सावधानियों का और ज्यादा ध्यान रखना है |

हम सावधान रहेंगे, तो सुरक्षित भी रहेंगे और हमारे उल्लास में कोई रूकावट भी नहीं पड़ेगी |"

Speaking about the present condition regarding Covid, PM Modi said, “We are seeing that Covid cases are rising in many countries in the world. We need to remain careful & wear masks & wash our hands.”

He further advised people to celebrate festivals with caution. He said, “Enjoy these festivals a lot but be a little cautious too. If we are careful, then we will also be safe and there will be no hindrance to our enjoyment. With this, once again many best wishes to all of you.”

The central government has stepped up measures against the virus, with the cases on a rise, especially in China where the lifting of the zero-Covid policy has caused a spread of the pandemic.

PM Narendra Modi has also chaired meetings and his government has written to the states to put in place adequate measures to deal with any spurt.

The prime minister also said the outgoing year, 2022, has been inspirational to India in many ways.
