Jamshedpur, Sept 25: A gang of four criminals decamped with cash and gold jewellery from a house in suburban Jondragora under Sundernagar Thana area on Monday.
Significantly, the criminals entered into the house by impersonating themselves as IT sleuths, but soon after they took the inmates of the house hostage. Having confined the inmates — an elderly woman and a girl — the criminals broke open the almirah and took away Rs 8,000 cash and gold ornaments.
Before leaving the spot, one of the criminals made the elderly woman sign on a paper.
The loot has taken place at the house of M Mery at a time when his son M James had gone to his duty. After getting the information, James returned home and lodged an FIR with the Sundarnagar Thana against the unidentified criminals.
What is worse is that the crime took place hardly 100 meters away from the Sundarnagar Thana.
OC, Sundarnagar Thana, Prabhat Kumar confirmed about the crime and said that they are trying to detect the case.
“We are trying to identify the criminals by taking CCTV footage of the criminals. The case will be detected soon, ” said Kumar while talking to lagatar24.com.
